Brady has been using his big boy potty chair since this morning! I couldn't be happier! Dave and Loni (my brother-in-law and his wife [my friend from high school]) have a dog who just had puppies. We wanted one and asked Brady if he wanted one too. He said he did and yesterday we went to pick our puppy out. She's adorable! We don't have a name for her yet, but we'll find one soon. We told him that if we get a puppy, he has to be potty trained before we bring it home.
This morning, I decided to give it a try. I got his potty chair from the bathroom and set it on some towels on the floor in the front room and turned on his favorite show. I gave him a big drink of water and reminded him about the puppy. I asked if he was ready to try and he said "Let's do this thing"! He sat on his potty chair for a while with no luck. I called Steve to tell him what we were trying and I heard Brady moving around downstairs. Since he didn't have a diaper on, I was a little worried. I peeked over the pony wall and he was standing next to his chair looking into the bowl. There was yellow-ish liquid! My baby peed in his potty! I know, I'm probably getting too excited about it, but it's a big thing! I kept his diaper off and he kept doing it everytime I set him on the chair. Eventually, I put his big boy underpants on and every 1/2 hour set him on his chair. He only leaked a few times and never full-on peed in his pants. He did great! I hope he keeps it up. I'm so proud of him!!
Jackson has been getting so much more personality! He fights back with Brady and takes toys away from him. He's getting another tooth in on the bottom so he'll have 4 on top and 4 on bottom. He's been a little sick in the last week but is finally starting to feel better. My boys are just growing up. I can't believe how fast it happens. I feel like I have so much more to say about Brady right now, but Jackson is really doing well. He loves Brady and loves to play with him. He's trying to walk but doesn't get very far. He loves to scoot along the wall. He sleeps really well (when he's not sick...) and naps pretty good too. He's so different from Brady! Brady would let anyone hold him, Jackson is just comfortable with Mommy & Daddy. He says a few words that we can understand and he loves to imitate us. He says (in his own way) baby, baby, baby, woot-woot, Brady, Mama and Dada. He tries to say puppy. He copies us when we sneeze and he tries to curl his tongue. He's a great eater and has a good appetite. He loves oranges but they give him diaper rash.
I love my boys so much. They make me so happy and proud. I'll have to post pictures soon.
