Disneyland!
We've got the winter blues at our house. Even though our trip isn't until April 11th, it's something to look forward to and it will get us through until it starts warming up. We're planning on driving (wish us luck!) and leaving early in the morning on the 11th. We'll take turns driving and we'll switch every 3 hours. I'm sure a lot of you are wondering what I'm going to do at Disneyland being 26 weeks preggo...
I am going to take the boys on kiddie rides.
I'm going to enjoy the looks on their faces when they meet Mickey and Minnie.
I'm going to soak up the sun at the beach.
I'm going to have FUN!
We're thinking 3 days at Disney and a beach day the day before we come home. Then, the morning of the 16th, we'll take off for home doing our shifts of driving. One of the main reasons we decided to go now, is Steve's Marriott points. He has enough for 3 nights free and if we don't use one of those nights by the end of May, we'll lose out on it. So, only having to pay for 2 nights at a hotel (and getting a discount too) really helps out. Also, if we don't do it soon, we probably won't be able to go for another 2 years. And with our tax return coming in we thought it would be nice to make some great memories before the baby comes and takes a lot of Mommy's attention.
Also, a pregnancy update:
I am now 16 (almost 17) weeks pregnant. I had my 16 week check this last Monday. Things are going well. We were able to listen to the baby's heartbeat. It took a while to find it though, she kept moving away from the doctor and he had to keep chasing her. The doctor measured my stomach and I'm right on. I had some blood work done and I'll get the results next week. I'll post if something goes wrong. Otherwise, no news is good news. There was a little glitch at my appointment though. I knew I would be getting blood drawn and they don't do it at the Saratoga Springs office. I went to the American Fork office thinking that I could just get it done there. My appointment ran late because the doctors had to go to deliveries and I was moved around a little bit. When I was finally done, I headed over to their lab area only to find out that their lab tech had already left 15 minutes before. I asked if there was anyone else who could draw my blood and they said no. I was pretty annoyed and feel bad that I got snippy with the staff, but I blame it on the hormones. So, apparently the tech always leaves at 4:30. I told them that I had been here since 3:40 and it wasn't my fault that the doctors were late. Then I got a little more upset that an employee was allowed to leave before all the patients were gone. At least she could have checked the doctor's schedules to see if there might be someone (like a 16 week-er) who might need blood work done and waited a little longer. Oh, well. It's over now and the office manager actually called me to find out what had happened so hopefully they'll fix it.
