Week 28

Here's a belly shot of 28 week preggo Shannon. I feel like I look smaller than I am, but when I bend over to pick something up or change Brady's diaper, I feel larger than I should be. I look a little puffy in the face and arms, but once the baby is born, I'll be working out like a mad woman. I would love to wear some of my old clothes again.

First of all, a HUGE thanks to my sister, Leslie. She has let me borrow some of her maternity clothes (the ones I bought with Brady are a little snug this late in my pregnancy). She took some awesome pictures of Brady last week (I'll post them in the next few weeks). She's just amazing! I'm so lucky to have her as a sister. THANKS Leslie, for ALL you do!

We've been sick at our house since Sunday, and today is the first day I've felt like blogging. I had my 28 week appointment on Tuesday. I took Brady with me again because he had a fever and I didn't want to infect my neighbor's kids. He was (as always) so well behaved! And everyone at the office loves him. I got to my appointment and the first thing they check (besides my weight which I won't be telling) is my blood pressure. The top number was a little high, but I think it's because I'm a little sick. I didn't have any protein in my "little yellow sample", so they aren't too worried about it. My temperature was a little high-normally, they don't check it but since I wasn't feeling good, they did. They gave me the results of my GTT, which was normal (thank goodness, I would have hated to have had to do the 3 hour test), and my Iron test, which was a little low. I guess I need to be eating more steak (Yay!!! Applebee's for dinner!). They checked the baby's heartbeat, which was 160, and measured my belly. Still right on track. I had been sitting in the room for a while when the nurse comes back in and tells me that Dr. Smith had to go next door to the hospital to deliver a baby. She brought me some water and Brady and I just hung out. It didn't take long and Dr. Smith came in to chat. She said that everything looks good and that she wanted to get me started on some antibiotics for my illness. She thought it was most likely a sinus infection. She also asked me if I wanted to be induced a week early. I said "Yes, please!". I asked my sister, Leslie, to come down and stay the night before we go into the hospital so she could watch Brady for us. She was also in the delivery room while Brady was born and took some amazing pictures and I want her there for this baby too. It's a huge weight lifted off my shoulders to know that things will be taken care of. So, I've now been on my prescription for 3 days and am feeling quite a bit better. I still sound like I have a frog in my throat, but at least I feel good!

So sorry to hear that you have been sick, but glad that all is well with the pregnancy. And of course Brady is never a problem! He is such a happy, fun little boy! I love him! (And you and Steve too, of course!)
