Diary of a potty-training Mom...

Day 1:
buy Pull-Ups with cool Cars design. Explain to Brady that these are like "big boy" underpants.

Day 2:
Try out the Pull-Ups. Explain to Brady that when he goes potty in the "big boy" underpants that this cool design goes away..."Broken" he says... "Yes, broken" says Mom. Go to put the first Pull-Up on and Brady lays down like I'm going to put a diaper on. Too cute, it makes me laugh! Put his clothes back on and an hour later, go to set him on the toilet. Take off pants and realize that he's peed in his "big boy" underpants. Set him on the toilet and get another Pull-Up ready. This process continues about every hour during this day. Sometimes he's dry, sometimes he's wet. Put him to bed with a regular diaper on since I don't want to waste the ones we bought.

Day 3:
Wake up when the boys wake up. Brady has had an accident in his jammies. He was laying on the floor behind his bedroom door when I went to get him so the carpet got it too (along with his bedding). Get him cleaned up and get the boys changed. Give him a big hug and tell him I love him. Get Brady breakfast, feed Jackson a bottle. Get Brady's & Jackson's bedding so I can wash it along with the wet jammies. Clean up the carpet. Pray that it goes easier today. Remind myself that I can't have such high expectations and just hope that he will still sit on the toilet. He's only 2. We'll keep working on it! Wish us luck!

Time will train him... don't rush! I didn't with Kamri and she took off on her own when she was ready. She was just over three!

hey just a little advice, Take it or leave it! every kid is different. #1 Pull ups are a wast a money and Time, it's just a more expensive Diaper. My first Trained in about 2 days. You find 2 days when you wont be going anywhere and you let them run Naked for 2 straight days, setting a timer for every 15 minutes the 1st day and every 30 the next. My second was even quicker. I bought Underware, I told her if she wanted them she had to keep them clean or they would go away, and she would have to be in diapers like a baby. And that was it. She never got her new tinkerbell panties wet. Also remember every kid is different, and if you try before your childs ready you and him will both hate it. he'll potty train when he wants. hope this helps.

Well first of all "Good Luck" it is not easy. And for second I agree 100% with the Allreds, Pull Ups are nothing but a waist of your money. Kids look at them like a diaper, they feel like a diaper. I tried them with my oldest and it didn't help at all. My oldest was hard to train. She went back and forth for about a year. But then as soon as she found something that she really wanted I told her she couldn't have it until she was going potty in the toilet. I will tell ya that diaper came off so fast. Right after I told her that she went into the bathroom took off the diaper and put on panties. Right after she put on the panties we did have a lot of running around to do. She did have an accident but that is normal. But she never went back to the diaper. And she got what she wanted. It did take a month before she got it because we waited until she wasn't peeing her pants all the time. What she wanted was a dog. No not a stuffed dog but a real dog.

With my second child things were so much easier. Infact on her 2nd birthday she came to me and told me that, "diapers are for babies and I am not a baby anymore." And from that day on she has been potty trained. I did nothing, she did it all on her own. When she was 3 yrs, we have some good friends with a daughter the same age as her still in diapers. Well Alyssa was the one to train their 3 yr old. we were living in Montana at the time and our friends came up to see us for a week. So for a week straight Alyssa took this other little girl to the bathroom every time she went. And it worked. By the time they went back home their 3 yr old was potty trained.

So this goes to say that all kids are different and they will do it on their own time when they feel ready.

I will say this again, "GOOD LUCK".
