I know that's not really an appropriate title for post, but I did keep it censored and it absolutely reflects my current feelings.
I had my surgery follow up today. I have been dreading this appointment since I set it because I absolutely loathe this doctor and his staff. Now, in my defense, I did have to find a doctor quickly so I didn't have time to find the perfect doc... I guess I was just lucky that the doctor who delivered Brady and Jackson was amazing. No one can live up to Dr. Smith. **CURSE YOU INSURANCE COMPANIES**
I was ready for my appointment on time and I had decided to take the boys with me thinking "What are the chances that he'll be running late again? I'm entitled to have my doctor on time for at least ONE of my appointments, right?" I spoke too soon... I left the house running a teeny bit late, but I made it on time to the office. I get to the front desk and try to check in, but the receptionist was on the phone (for about 5 minutes) and didn't even acknowledge I was there. When she was done, she checked me in with a snotty attitude (I get this every time I go for a visit, I'm not exaggerating) and the boys go play. Time goes by and I keep checking my watch. 40 minutes later, I go up to the desk (because no one thought to give an update to all the patients sitting in the waiting room) to ask how much longer it will be. Snotty Receptionist said I was next. Snooty Receptionist went one step further and actually asked the nurse how much longer. She came back with bad news.
The doctor had been called away on a delivery.
I can understand that, I know they have a busy day seeing patients and delivering babies, but honestly... Couldn't they have told me (and all the other patients in the waiting room)? I guess I was just spoiled. With Dr. Smith, I never waited more than 10 minutes max in the waiting room and maybe 15 in the exam room and she had babies to deliver too. I asked if there was another doctor I could see, they said no. I asked if I absolutely HAD to be seen, they said yes. I was frustrated and near tears... Well, yes. I did cry. I was extremely angry. They said I could take the boys and go get lunch or run some errands and they would call me when he was back. I took the boys to McDonald's. They got Shrek toys. I called the Dr office -he still wasn't done.
We went to explore Winco (Brady had to go to the bathroom and I was curious how it looked inside that store). While we were walking in the aisles,
I got a call from the doctor's office.
Finally.
My original appointment was at 12:20 PM, the doctor came into the room to see me at 2:30. He talked to me about what options we had available. Asked if I had a recurrent miscarriage workup yet, how far we got with the workup, what we wanted to do next, what I wanted to do for birth control. I said no to birth control- we weren't trying but not preventing either. I wanted to talk to Steve about any testing before we scheduled anything. And we were done. He gave me a paper to follow up in 4 months if we're not pregnant by then. Like I said, not trying, but not preventing either. And I really want to go to a different doctor. I don't care if I have to drive to Provo or Riverton to find a good doctor. I have some a couple of recommendations so if we do decide to get any ultrasound tests done, I'll call them instead because I will definitely not be returning to that office.

So Sorry Shannon! What a crappy appointment. I'm so glad you had a great doctor for your boys, you are really lucky! Perfect title for your post. =) I wish you luck in finding a better doctor! hang in there. Hugs!
I hate days like that! I go to Dr. Edward England in Riverton and he has been great. I have not delivered yet (obviously) but as an office & dr. I have been impressed. But that totally sucks anyway. And it makes it even worse to have kids with you and having to fight that. =(
I just read this Shannon - I am so slow at checking blogs lately! I am so sorry you had to go through that with a doctor's office. They really should be more sensitive. There is a reason that everyone is in their office! I know my sister has an amazing Dr. at the Riverton hospital. I can find out her name if you want. Let me know! See you Wednesday morning!
